Account & Billing

Agentum has two SKUs and one place to manage them: theagentum.com/account. This page covers what you’ll find there, what happens when things change, and where your data actually lives.

Two SKUs, no subscriptions

There are exactly two ways to use Agentum:

  • 14-day free trial — email-gated, no credit card. Sign in with Google and a trial license is issued automatically.
  • $999 one-time lifetime license — pay once, use it forever. Every future release is included.

That’s the whole pricing page. No tiers, no monthly billing, no per-seat pricing. See theagentum.com/pricing.

Starting a trial

Go to theagentum.com and sign in with Google. Your trial license is issued the moment your account is created and the 14-day countdown starts. Download the desktop app (see Getting Started), launch it, and the first sync activates your install.

One trial per account. If you let it expire, the upgrade path is the same — buy lifetime and the same license key carries over.

Buying a lifetime license

From theagentum.com/pricing, click Buy lifetime. We hand you off to Stripe Checkout — Stripe handles the card details, we never see them. After payment, the success page returns you to a deep link that wakes the running app and upgrades your license in place. Same key as before, no re-activation, no reinstall.

If the deep link doesn’t fire (some browsers block it), use either:

  • The Open Agentum button on the success page, or
  • Refresh license in the chip menu in Agentum’s sidebar footer.

The chip switches from Trial to Lifetime within a few seconds.

Multiple devices

Right now there’s no enforcement — install Agentum on as many of your own Macs as you want. Sign in with the same Google account on each one and the same license key auto-binds via OAuth. No serial-number juggling.

Explicit device management (see and revoke individual machines) is on the v2 roadmap. For now it’s open.

Switching to another Mac

Install Agentum on the new machine, sign in with Google, and your license re-binds automatically. The old machine keeps working — Agentum doesn’t auto-deactivate when a new device shows up.

If you want to cut the old machines off (selling the Mac, handing it down, lost laptop), go to System → Advanced → Sign out other Macs in Agentum, or click the same button on theagentum.com/account. All other devices lose verification on their next heartbeat and the chip turns red.

Refunds

Within 14 days of purchase, refunds are no questions asked. Email support@theagentum.com and we’ll process it through Stripe. Your license is revoked within ~24 hours — the desktop app picks it up on its daily heartbeat.

After 14 days, refunds are case-by-case. Get in touch and we’ll talk it through.

When your license is revoked

Whether from a refund, a manual support action, or signing out other Macs, a revoked license behaves the same way:

  • The chip in the sidebar footer turns red.
  • A full-screen overlay takes over the main window: “Your Agentum license is no longer active.”
  • Containers stop, so your agents stop running.
  • The app does not quit. Your config, plugins, and agent files stay exactly where they are.
  • The license/account UI stays available so you can renew, sign in with a different Google account, or reach support.

Reactivate (or buy a new lifetime) and the overlay clears on the next refresh. Nothing is lost.

Working offline

Agentum doesn’t need a constant connection. After a successful license check, you have 7 days of grace:

  • Days 0–5 — silent. Everything works, no banner, no nag.
  • Day 6 — an amber banner appears asking you to reconnect.
  • Day 7+ — containers stop and a full-screen “Can’t verify your license” overlay takes over.

Reconnect to the internet, click Refresh license, and you’re back to normal. Your data stays put through all of this.

When your trial is expiring

The desktop app warns you before it lapses:

  • 3 days remaining — chip turns amber, a dismissible banner appears with the upgrade CTA.
  • 0 days — server flips your license to expired, the chip turns red, the full-screen overlay appears, and containers stop.

Buy a lifetime license at any point — during the warning window or after expiry — and your install picks up where it left off. Nothing on disk is deleted.

Where your billing info lives

Stripe holds your payment record. Need a receipt or a copy of the invoice? You can request one from Stripe directly, or email support@theagentum.com and we’ll forward it.

What we hold on the licensing server:

  • Your email address
  • Your license_key (a UUID)
  • The most recent machine fingerprint hash (sha256 of your Mac’s hardware UUID — irreversible)
  • The dates of activation and most recent verify

We never store your card. Stripe handles all of that under their PCI infrastructure.

Account changes

To change the email associated with your license — switching jobs, retiring a personal Google account, etc. — email support@theagentum.com and we’ll merge the records manually. Self-serve email change is planned for v2.

Privacy

Your agent activity, file content, plugin state, prompts, LLM responses, and integrations all live on your Mac. None of it is sent to the licensing server.

The licensing server only ever sees four things:

  • license_key
  • email
  • machine fingerprint hash
  • verify timestamps

Nothing about what your agents do, what you ask them, or what they produce. If something there isn’t clear, Troubleshooting covers the diagnostic side, and support is at support@theagentum.com for anything else.
