Account & Billing
Agentum has three plans and one place to manage them: theagentum.com/account. This page covers what you’ll find there, what happens when things change, and where your data actually lives.
The plans
Start with a 30-day free trial — email-gated, no credit card. Sign in with Google and a trial license is issued automatically. Cancel any time; there’s no auto-charge, so nothing is billed unless you choose a plan.
After that there are three:
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Monthly usage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal | $20 (founding price; normally $40) | $200 | Base — a full month’s usage |
| Pro | $75 (founding price; normally $100) | $750 | 10× Personal |
| Business | $250 | $2,500 | 3× Pro, pooled — 3 seats included |
Annual is ten monthly payments, so two months are free. Business adds seats at $50 each ($500 annually); extra shared usage is bought separately. The founding customer price is yours for life, for as long as you keep a paid plan. Bigger than 10 seats, or need something bespoke? Talk to us. See theagentum.com/pricing.
Cancel any time — access runs to the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
Agentum Credits
A credit is the one unit you ever see for AI spend. It covers the model calls behind your agents, your chats, and Agentum Code, whichever model they run on — so there is nothing to add up and no second bill to watch. Your plan’s credits are shown in the app’s Account card and at theagentum.com/account.
Three rules, the same on every plan:
- Your monthly usage refills every month — on annual billing too. An annual plan is not twelve months of usage handed over on day one. Anything you did not spend is reset, so every month starts fresh.
- Extra usage carries forward. Buy it by re-upping your current plan ($20 on Personal, $75 on Pro) and a full month’s worth lands on top of your balance. It is spent only after the month’s regular usage, and it never expires while you are on a paid plan. Purchases are final; when a plan ends, any unused extra usage is forfeited.
- Agents pause when your usage runs out. You get a heads-up at 80% and again at 95%; at 100% your agents pause rather than run up a bill. There is no overage charge — re-up, move up a plan, or point Agentum at your own key.
Changing plans. Moving up to Pro takes effect immediately: you pay only the difference for the days left in the period, and the extra capacity is available straight away. Moving down takes effect at your next renewal. Cancel any time — you keep access to the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Prefer your own key? Every plan can run on your own Claude, Gemini or DeepSeek key instead, billed by that provider directly rather than by us. Credits are the zero-setup option, not the only one. See LLM & Harness.
If you bought a lifetime license
The one-time Lifetime and Business seat licenses are no longer sold, and every one already issued keeps working exactly as before — no expiry, no subscription, future releases included. Nothing you need to do. Guided Launch is still available as a one-time add-on alongside any plan.
Starting a trial
Go to theagentum.com and sign in with Google. Your trial license is issued the moment your account is created and the 30-day countdown starts (you keep access through the whole final day). Download the desktop app (see Getting Started), launch it, and the first sync activates your install.
One trial per account. We never charge automatically — when the trial ends, the app asks you to buy a license to keep going. If you let it expire (or cancel early), the upgrade path is the same — buy a license and the same license key carries over.
Cancelling a trial
Cancel any time from the app (the Cancel trial control next to your trial countdown) or by emailing us. Because there’s no card on file and no scheduled charge, cancelling simply ends the trial — you’re never billed.
Choosing a plan
From theagentum.com/pricing, pick a plan and a billing period. We hand you off to Stripe Checkout — Stripe handles the card details, we never see them. After payment, the success page returns you to a deep link that wakes the running app and upgrades your license in place. Same key as before, no re-activation, no reinstall.
If the deep link doesn’t fire (some browsers block it), use either:
- The Open Agentum button on the success page, or
- Reactivate in the Account menu in Agentum’s sidebar footer.
The chip switches from Trial to your plan’s name within a few seconds.
Teams (Agentum Business)
Buying for a team? The Business plan on theagentum.com/pricing covers five seats and 5,000 shared credits — enter your team name and how many seats you need (5 or more), and check out once. You become the team admin, one seat is yours immediately, and everything else happens at theagentum.com/team:
- Invite teammates by email. Each invite reserves a seat; the invitee signs in with the invited Google account and their license is issued on the spot. If the email doesn’t arrive, every pending invite has a copyable link you can send yourself.
- Remove someone and their seat frees up instantly for the next invite. Their license stops working right away.
- Add seats any time at $75 each — no re-quote, no sales call. Each one adds 1,000 credits to the team’s monthly pool.
- Choose how the team’s AI budget works. Business runs as a shared pool by default — one balance the whole team draws from, so heavy users can draw more and light users less. Switch to individual budgets any time from the team panel.
Team members see a read-only version of the panel showing who their admins are; their license otherwise behaves exactly like a personal one — same app, same devices policy, same updates. One difference: a team seat’s AI budget is managed by the team, so personal AI-credit top-ups are disabled for seat holders — ask your team admin instead.
Multiple devices
Right now there’s no enforcement — install Agentum on as many of your own Macs as you want. Sign in with the same Google account on each one and the same license key auto-binds via OAuth. No serial-number juggling.
Explicit device management (see and revoke individual machines) is on the v2 roadmap. For now it’s open.
Switching to another Mac
Install Agentum on the new machine, sign in with Google, and your license re-binds automatically. The old machine keeps working — Agentum doesn’t auto-deactivate when a new device shows up.
If you want to cut the old machines off (selling the Mac, handing it down, lost laptop), click Sign out other Macs on theagentum.com/account. Other devices lose verification on their next check-in, and the next Mac you sign in on becomes the active one.
Payment and refund policy
The 30-day trial is your opportunity to evaluate Agentum before you pay anything. After that, your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, then stops — there are no refunds, except where one is required by applicable law. Cancelling covers what that means month by month, what happens to usage you have left, and how changing plans differs from cancelling. For billing questions, email support@theagentum.com.
When your license is revoked
Whether from a legally required refund, a chargeback, a manual support action, or signing out other Macs, a revoked license behaves the same way:
- The chip in the sidebar footer turns red.
- A full-screen overlay takes over the main window: “Your Agentum license is no longer active.”
- Your agents stop running.
- The app does not quit. Your config, plugins, and agent files stay exactly where they are.
- The license/account UI stays available so you can renew, sign in with a different Google account, or reach support.
Reactivate (or start a plan) and the overlay clears on the next refresh. Nothing is lost.
Working offline
Agentum doesn’t need a constant connection. After a successful license check, you have 7 days of grace:
- Days 0–5 — silent. Everything works, no banner, no nag.
- Day 6 — an amber banner appears asking you to reconnect.
- Day 7+ — your agents stop and a full-screen “Can’t verify your license” overlay takes over.
Reconnect to the internet, click Refresh license, and you’re back to normal. Your data stays put through all of this.
When your trial is expiring
The desktop app warns you before it lapses:
- 3 days remaining — chip turns amber, a dismissible banner appears with the upgrade CTA.
- 0 days — server flips your license to expired, the chip turns red, the full-screen overlay appears, and your agents stop.
Pick a plan at any point — during the warning window or after expiry — and your install picks up where it left off. Nothing on disk is deleted.
Where your billing info lives
Stripe holds your payment record. Need a receipt or a copy of the invoice? You can request one from Stripe directly, or email support@theagentum.com and we’ll forward it.
What we hold on the licensing server:
- Your email address
- Your
license_key(a UUID) - The most recent machine fingerprint hash (sha256 of your Mac’s hardware UUID — irreversible)
- The dates of activation and most recent verify
We never store your card. Stripe handles all of that under their PCI infrastructure.
Account changes
To change the email associated with your license — switching jobs, retiring a personal Google account, etc. — email support@theagentum.com and we’ll merge the records manually. Self-serve email change is planned for v2.
Privacy
Your agent activity, file content, plugin state, prompts, LLM responses, and integrations all live on your Mac. None of it is sent to the licensing server.
The licensing server only ever sees four things:
license_key- machine fingerprint hash
- verify timestamps
Nothing about what your agents do, what you ask them, or what they produce. If something there isn’t clear, Troubleshooting covers the diagnostic side, and support is at support@theagentum.com for anything else.
